Due to the growing interest in therapeutic peptides within the pharmaceutical industry, peptide synthesis, new efforts have been done to improve the synthesis workflows.
General peptide synthesis procedures using techniques such as Boc or Fmoc Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS), Liquid – Phase Peptide Synthesis orthe newest peptide synthesis in flow involves the addition of the different aminoacids one by one with the use of protecting groups.(1)
Later peptide identification can be done using mass spectroscophy, where the mass of the newly synthetized peptide can be confirmed and the sequence asssessed using the fragmentation information provided by High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry instruments.
